After a short hiatus, the Toronto chapter of The American Marketing Association is bringing back the Marketing Hall of Legends, extending the program year-round with a new “Legendary Leadership” speaker series.
First created in 2004, the MHOL has inducted 83 Canadian leaders from marketing, media, agencies and academia in four categories: visionary, enabler, builder and mentor. After last inducting a class in 2017, the AMA will soon put out a call for new inductees for 2020.
“For 15 years, the Marketing Hall of Legends has been celebrating the visionaries, enablers, builders and mentors who’ve had tremendous impact on the field of marketing throughout their careers,” said AMA Toronto president Matt Chong in a release. “This season, to share knowledge and inspire future marketing leaders, our organization is expanding its recognition of Canada’s marketing legends through the Legendary Leadership series.”
The first “Legendary Leadership” event will take April 9, featuring John St. founder/CEO and MHOL inductee Arthur Fleischmann in conversation with Leslie Root, senior vice-president of marketing at TJX Canada. “These intimate, frank conversations will reveal the remarkable success stories that make up each legend’s career,” said Michelle Flynn, AMA Toronto president-elect.
