Another wave of shortlists was released at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity on Sunday morning, with Canada earning 11 nods in the Design Lions competition and a single nod in the Print Publishing Lions.
Cossette Montreal garnered a pair of shortlist mentions, one in the Posters category for its “Happy Moving Day” ads for McDonald’s Canada, and a second in the Rebrand/Refresh of an Existing Identity category for its “Children’s Identity” campaign for Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Leo Burnett Toronto was also shortlisted in the Posters category for its “TD Poster Bank” campaign on behalf of TD.
Taxi Toronto scored Canada’s third nod in the Posters category, for its “#Unignorable” work on behalf of the United Way.
Taxi’s work on behalf of the United Way was also Canada’s sole entrant on the Print & Publishing Lions shortlist announced Sunday, with “#Unignorable—Domestic Violence” (below, left) earning a nod in the Not-for-profit/Charity/Government category. Canada had a total of 33 submissions in the category.
After making the shortlist for the Outdoor Lions on Saturday, Rethink Toronto‘s “Pride Shield” for Fondation Emergence, and “Pass the Bill” for Leaf Forward both garnered Design nods, in the Spatial and Sculptural Exhibitions and Experiences and Special editions and Promotional Packaging categories respectively.
Jam3 Toronto ‘s “Complexcon” for Adidas Originals also received a Design Lions nod in the UX, UI & Journey Design category.
Lg2 Montreal is shortlisted in the Infant Products, Toys & Educational Products category for its “The You Inside/Project au Couer de Toi” work for Gender Creative Kids, while Ogilvy Toronto received a nod in the Medical Products category for its “Huggies H-Section” for Kimberly-Clark Canada’s Huggies brand.
Sid Lee Montreal was also shortlisted in the Spatial and Sculptural Exhibitions and Experiences category for “The Impactful Reminder” for the City of Montreal’s “Vision Zero Project” (left).
Zulu Alpha Kilo‘s “Speak the Truth” for the Registered Graphic Designers was shortlisted in the Creation of a New Brand Identity category.
The Film Craft Lions and Health & Wellness Lions shortlists were also announced on Sunday.
