Former Carat Canada CEO Jeff Dack will take over as head of WPP’s Wunderman Thompson network on Sept. 3, the company announced today.
Dack’s appointment to the newly created CEO role comes less than a year after WPP merged the J. Walter Thompson and Wunderman networks.
Dack has an extensive agency history that has included stops at TBWA/Chiat Day, Zig, Cossette, GWP Brand Engineering and Taxi. Prior to his 2016 arrival at Carat, Dack held leadership positions at Lowe Roche and Jamieson Laboratories.
Former JWT Canada president and CEO Susan Kim-Kirkland, who had led JWT’s Canadian operations since 2012, has left the company to pursue “new opportunities,” said a spokesperson for Wunderman Thompson.
Based out of Toronto, Dack will oversee Wunderman Thompson’s operations in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. He will be responsible for strategic vision, growth, operations and client relations for the WPP network, said the company.
Dack said in a release that he considers himself a “company and culture builder,” and that Wunderman Thompson is “uniquely poised” to help clients grow through a combination of “new solutions, distinctive products and standout campaigns.”
“I couldn’t be happier that Jeff Dack will be joining our powerhouse North American leadership team,” said Wunderman Thompson’s North American CEO Shane Atchison of the appointment. “With his unique mix of agency and client-side experience, Jeff brings a fresh perspective that will help us unite creative, data and technology for our clients.”
