Canadian Tire has another Fred VanVleet ASMR

Canadian Tire has quietly (of course) revealed another video of Toronto Raptors star Fred VanVleet doing ASMR—this time promoting the four-person Outbound Cache Tent.

It’s the third video in the series, which debuted last year with VanVleet promoting the Noma Voice Command Smart Lights. A January video featured the Raptors star talking about the Motomaster Simple Series Battery Charger.

The three videos have amassed nearly 500,000 combined views on YouTube alone since their debut. They also run on Canadian Tire’s Facebook page.

The latest video features a close mic’d VanVleet interacting with the tent and speaking in hushed tones about features like its water-resistant coating and “eclipse technology” designed to block out the sun. It also includes an appearance by a VanVleet bobblehead.

ASMR (or autonomous sensory meridian response) has become something of a marketing trend in the last year, with brands including Lindt Chocolate, Reese, BMW, Skittles and Michelob all introducing commercials specifically designed to elicit what has been described as a “brain orgasm” among particularly sensitive viewers/listeners.

With the Raptors facing elimination in their secound-round series with the Boston Celtics, Canadians are hoping VanVleet can make a little noise on the court.
