Miller Lite shows baseball fans some glove

Miller Lite has created a new baseball glove that’s perfect for catching either short hops or tall boys.

In partnership with Sid Lee and equipment manufacturer Rawlings, the Molson Coors Canada beer brand this week unveiled a limited-edition glove called the “Miller Lite Relief Catcher.” It’s the perfect answer to that time-honoured request, “Hey, toss me a beer,” which takes on new meaning as Canadians start to get together more while still staying apart.

“It’s been too long since Canadians have been able to enjoy some Miller time with their friends,” said Katie Rankin, senior marketing manager at Molson Coors, in a release. “The Miller Lite Relief Catcher is the perfect mix of the love for the sport, our great tasting brew and having some safe socially distanced fun during the ball  game this year.”

The glove features additional webbing (billed as “an extended pint pocket”) to go with a detachable coaster in the palm. Miller Lite is giving away five of the special gloves through an online contest.

“With this new Miller Lite creation, fans can reconnect and celebrate the baseball season,” said Sid Lee creative director Matt Fraracci. “We were inspired by the popular saying, ‘Toss me a beer!’ and with Miller Lite we literally brought it to life. It’s a simple idea that encourages people to continue to be  responsible while awaiting the return of baseball in Canada.”

It might also be just the thing for Toronto Blue Jays who have shown they’re pretty great at hitting, but not so great at catching.
