Vodcast #9: Calling out ad tech, and shouting out Publicis’s diversity efforts

After an extended break for the holidays, The Message in a Vodcast is back today, and we’re talking about stopping ad dollars going to hate content online, and Publicis’s recently launched This is the Job.

As many of you will (hopefully) know by know, we launched our vodcast last year—with our invaluable production partners Blue Ant Plus—to share some of the thinking behind some of the stories we cover each week, and have a little pop culture trivia fun.

In this episode, David explains how the Check My Ads Institute is calling on ad tech to stop putting marketing ad spend into the pockets or people spreading racism, hatred and lies online. Meanwhile Sun Life and Cossette shared a case study showing that being more mindful of where your digital ad spend goes is good for business.

And Chris talked about Publicis’s new program to connect with young BIPOC students to show them how their passions could lead them to a career in advertising.

Finally, Libby closes out the episode with a pop culture quiz, and the topic this time was the classic sitcom The Office. Sample question: Who on the cast had a sweating problem during production?

Once again, we have our friends at Blue Ant Plus to thank for the production of this episode. Owned and operated by Blue Ant Media, Blue Ant Plus is a full-service studio producing branded content entertainment for nationally and globally recognized agencies and clients.
