Staples is going back to school… already

Yes, school just finished. And yes, we just had Canada Day. But Staples is already talking about going back to school.

The retailer introduced a new 38-page “official” back-to-school catalogue this week. Aside from technology for students and school supplies, it also offers “tips and hacks to ace your year, working station design guides and so much more.”

The guide is available at Staples stores, with a digital version available online, as well as a special “Back to School HQ” section of its site.

Later this month, Staples will roll out new advertising for the “Let’s Find Out” platform, with Howie Mandel appearing in the English ads and Pierre-Yves Lord starring in the French creative. Staples launched the platform last year, with each actor “personifying curiosity.”

Jackman Reinvents does the advertising, with Jungle Media handling media, and Golin PR.

“We know that those going back to school will continue to face unique challenges this year,” said Staples’ chief commercial officer John DeFranco in a release. “We’re driven to inspire Canadians with knowledge and advice through our associates and our Official Back to School Guide – paired with the best value on hundreds of new, exciting Back to School picks so they can get off on the right foot.”
