Subway is keeping its sporty vibes going in a new campaign featuring Canadian snowboarders Mark McMorris and Sébastien Toutant.
Subway originally worked with McMorris to launch the “Eat Fresh Refresh” campaign, which has seen a number of athletes who are great at their respective sport, but not so great as spokespersons for the brand.
Once again, McMorris (as well as Toutant) are asked to sell Subway’s sandwiches, though in this case the focus is on updates to its Chicken Teriyaki Crunch and Chicken Rancher. The first has “way more” crispy onions, and the other is “waaaay cheesier.”
In each of the ads, the snowboarders perform impressive tricks on their boards while yelling about the changes. In the English ads, McMorris yells “It’s Subwaaaayyyyy cheesier than that” as he hurtles down a hill. (In the French ads, Toutant plays with “suuuuper.”)
“These refreshed faves are an exciting first step in our 2023 journey,” said Doug Fry, Subway Canada’s managing director. “We’re pushing to continuously deliver the quality ingredients, craveable flavours and unique experiences our guests deserve. This year, Canadians should prepare for game-changing introductions to our menu and how we serve our guests—stay tuned for even more.”
