Kijiji hires Schneiderman to lead ad sales

Jed Schneiderman, one of Canada’s top digital marketing experts, has joined Kijiji as head of advertising.

Schneiderman will oversee Kijiji’s advertising sales business, working with clients—both agencies and brands—to find solutions that meet business objectives.

“Jed is a powerful and energetic leader who has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to build successful businesses and drive growth across diverse global brands,” said Scott Neil, general manager, Kijiji, in a release. “His extensive experience in the dynamic realms of mobile, streaming, broadcast, and internet technology has positioned him as a trusted expert within the ever-evolving landscape of consumer tech trends and marketing strategies.”

“I took the job as it’s a great team… and it combines the best of advertising and data,” said Schneiderman in an email to The Message. “It is well known, [has] great reach on desktop and mobile, has great user intent data and first party data, so it’s the best of both worlds.”

After spending the early part of his career as a brand manager at P&G, Schneiderman joined AOL in the still early days of digital marketing in Canada. Senior positions with top digital brands like Bell Media and Microsoft followed, before he shifted his focus to mobile with the launch of Tapped Mobile, which was acquired by EQ Works.

Most recently, he was vice-president and country manager for Jebbit, which describes itself as the “world’s first zero-party data platform”—a mobile-first solution that incentivized consumers to share their data for better brand personalization.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to building long-lasting, impactful relationships that will help us grow our vertical and horizontal markets,” said Neil.

Kijiji cited Schneiderman’s “multifaceted expertise, strategic acumen, and passion for innovation” as the key reasons for his hiring. But aside from his professional accomplishments, he is well-known for being an active contributor to the digital marketing community in Canada, as an active and enthusiastic mentor. He has spoken often at conferences and events, for example and, in 2017, co-founded the M2T Collective innovative training program in the marketing, media, and technology space.
