Taxi Vancouver hires comics aficionados to lead creative

Taxi has new creative leadership at its Vancouver office with the addition of Cam Spires and Jake Hope as co-creative directors.

The pair, most recently creative directors at Rethink Vancouver, replace James Sadler, who had been executive CD of the office early 2019.

“As a signal of our  creative intent, we are adding serious horsepower with the introduction of both Cam and Jake to Taxi,” said Graham Lang, Taxi’s chief creative officer, North America. “They are amazingly talented creative leaders with deep experience  of iconic brands. And they are equally amazing humans.”

“[T]hey bring a wealth of creativity and experience to our agency,” added Jackie Pearl, managing director of Taxi Vancouver. “Their talents will  undoubtedly contribute to Taxi Vancouver’s continued growth and success in  meeting the ever-changing needs of our clients.”

Outside of his full-time role, Spires writes and illustrates the popular web-comic Goat to Self. He also authored the recently published board book “What Were You Expecting?: First Words for New Parents.” Hope is also an illustrator, and a contributing member of the webcomic collective, Monster Picnic.

They’ve collaborated on numerous successful campaigns, including Heinz x McCain: The Love Collab.
