KFC is ready for any turkey disasters

With Thanksgiving just days away, KFC is reminding Torontonians that it can deliver dinner should any turkey disasters occur.

The out-of-home and social campaign features high-impact photography of some very foul fowl—including one bird that’s completely burned to a crisp, and another that overwhelms a deep fryer, sparking a fire.

Each execution includes the simple headline “Thankfully there’s…” alongside a picture of a KFC delivery bag. Along with the advertising, KFC is offering $5 off delivery from Oct. 6-9 for orders made through the KFC app or at KFC.ca.

The campaign by Courage is in keeping with the cheeky advertising-with-attitude approach adopted by the brand in the past year since the agency was awarded the business.

“We loved this idea of remedying these highly stressful images of Thanksgiving disasters with the reassurance that KFC is ready to deliver a delicious, craveable feast when they need it most,” said Azim Akhtar, director of marketing at KFC Canada, in a release. “It’s a sentiment that’s at the core of our brand’s DNA—we’ve always been there to save the dinner table for families, whether it’s a special occasion or an ordinary weekday.”

“We wanted to capture these exact moments that can trigger so much panic in order to illustrate that KFC is not only a tasty backup plan, but an even better first choice this holiday season,” added Cindy Marie Navarro, creative director at Courage.
